National (and international) discussion will shift to election outcomes soon. While we're waiting, the FilterLabs team thought it might be interesting to take a look at how **sentiment analysis** in the discourse about candidates might relate to those candidates' performance in **opinion polls**.

We were curious: What light does sentiment data from online conversation shed on the opinion polls? Is there a correlation? Might sentiment data even anticipate the polling numbers at times?
