Job Description: 

As the Director of Sales, you’ll embark on a pivotal journey, collaborating closely with our executive leadership to craft Filter’s pioneering monetization strategy. In a remarkably short time, Filter has established itself as a trusted provider of tools delivering unique insights to both business and government clientele, earning extensive recognition in traditional and online media outlets. Your mission is to harness this recognition and transform it into qualified leads that not only fuel our sales pipeline but also lead to closed business deals.

Your role as Director of Sales encompasses a wide range of responsibilities that is typical of a 1st sales professional at a startup, which includes:

  • Developing and implementing a repeatable, high-impact lead generation process.
  • Partnering closely with executive leadership to orchestrate a full-funnel sales approach, covering everything from raising awareness and engaging prospects to converting them into leads.
  • Collaborating with the executive team to craft compelling presentations and collateral that convey Filter’s unique value proposition.
  • Setting and achieving ambitious sales targets through rigorous execution.
  • Demonstrating exceptional communication skills across all channels – in-person, over the phone, and through written correspondence.

Experience and Skills: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher education.
  • A mission-based mindset, deeply committed to our nation’s quest for freedom and justice worldwide.
  • A solid track record of 5-10 years in successful business-to-business sales, with a bonus if you’ve sold technology to businesses, non-profit organizations, or government clients.
  • A strong work ethic, demonstrating an ability to thrive in diverse environments.
  • A high level of adaptability and a willingness to embrace the rapid changes typical of startup culture.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey our value proposition.
  • Willingness to travel for sales presentations and prospect meetings, with a focus on the East Coast (Washington, DC to Boston).
  • Proficiency in utilizing lead generation tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft, and similar platforms.
  • Basic skills in office productivity tools like Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Docs.
